Idive indoor sky diving tampa6/26/2023 ![]() His mother completed the waver to allow him to fly. Instead, the staff said “we don’t do that. When we arrived to check in for a 15 year olds birthday party, each child had to weigh in and 1 child weighed 271, so we expected to go through a clearing process. The policy clearly states that for those between 260 and 300 lbs, they must be cleared by staff. Unclear and unfair weight policy resulted in excluding a 15 year old boy and embarrassing him in front of his friends. His focus was safety but he also made it super fun. Our instructor, Alex, was great and clearly qualified. As other reviewers have commented this is a pricey experience, but it is very unique to actually feel like flying. Making reservations, payment, and waiver on line was super easy making check in at the location was breeze. We were looking for an activity that wouldn’t be weather dependent. This time, we were also offered video and photos, which we have not yet viewed, but I am looking forward to that. Again, I say it is a very unique and exciting opportunity. Yes, it is a pricey experience, and there are up-sale opportunities, but I didn't feel pressured to do so. We did purchase the "fly high" experience in advance, and I enjoyed it even more this time than the last. Each person got a personalized experience based on their comfort level and ability. There were some kids in our time slot and Joel really was great with everyone in the group. He was so personable and focused on safety. Joel Rodriguez was our flight instructor, and he clearly loves what he does. I think because we knew better what to expect, it was even better! It took a year an a half, but we did finally make it back. As a side note, the staff was super friendly, the place was very neat and clean, they have lockers for your use included in the price and it's very near other attractions if you want to stop elsewhere when you're finished. When we went back in 2020, we'd purchased additional flights (there is a pretty significant discount if you buy additional time prior to leaving the facility). So my suggestion is this - if you're too scared to try the real thing (at about $150 for a tandem dive), then come here.but be prepared to spend a ton of money if you want to make the experience last longer. As I mentioned the experience is unique, my two kids absolutely enjoyed themselves, but for what you are paying, 60 seconds is hardly getting any real value. They then fit you with a suit, glasses and helmet, go over some hand signals and then you're inside ready to fly. So, the experience is surely unique - the classroom training is short and sweet - just a quick video and intro from your instructor. I was able to save roughly 1/2 off on 1 minute flights for the three of us with a coupon the company had on their own website.which brought our total to just under $100 for two minutes of flight time for each of us. I booked on the website, and also filled out the waiver online, which proves to be quite finitely use that option. I took my two children here, ages 12 and 11 for their first time experience. All in all it's kind of expensive, but a one-of-the-kind experience. Lots of event packages offered at varying prices. Copies of video and photos are included in the purchase price. They video your flight and you get to watch it afterward. Instructors are very friendly and they all act like they enjoy their jobs. It's remarkable how he can Spiderman up the wall, free fall and stop just 6 inches from the wire mesh floor. After everyone in the groups flies, the instructor puts on a show. The high point of the experience is when you and the instructor "fly" to the top of the tunnel and descend, usually in a circular rotating motion. You have in instructor with you at all times. Wind of 100+ mph lifts you up and you control your movements with hands and legs. You get fitted with flight suit, helmet, goggles, and earplugs. You get to view the participants, go through a lecture and film on safety and other instructions. It's a vertical wind tunnel about 2-3 stories high.
